Student Crime Stoppers Re-Create Fatal Collision
May 14, 2010, Norfolk County, Ontario - On Friday, May 14th, as students arrived at Valley Heights Secondary School, they never fathomed they would observe a fatal collision at the front of their school. Student Crime Stoppers wanted to get the message out to their peers about ATV safety and drinking and riding so they re-created a deadly scene.
Thanks to the assistance of Gord Propper of the Norfolk County ATV Club and OPP Cst Natalya McCourt, the Student Crime Stoppers created the scene using an ATV and a dirt bike donated from McKee Sport & Garden complete with a dummy and fake blood. The Student Crime Stoppers ensured the arriving students received additional information on riding safe and sober. Most students agreed that the re-created collision was quite effective and definitely helped to reinforce the importance of off-road safety.
