Crime Stoppers – You Can Help!

January is known around the world as Crime Stoppers Awareness Month and Crime Stoppers of Haldimand, Norfolk and Tillsonburg needs you to help spread the word.

How you can help:

  • If you have a static sign outside of your business, please consider putting on a generic Crime Stoppers message (such as Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-TIPS, Anonymous, Cash rewards).
  • If you are a member of a service group and need a guest speaker (no group is too big or too small), please call our administrative line 519-426-3434 ext 4241 to arrange to have Crime Stoppers speak at your next meeting.
  • Do you send monthly statements or invoices to clients? If so, you could include a Crime Stoppers pamphlet or information sheet in your monthly mailout. Email coordinators@helpsolvecrime.com to make arrangements.
  • Would you like a metal Crime Stoppers sign, vinyl Crime Stoppers window decal or Crime Stoppers posters to put out in your business or school? The more visible the Crime Stoppers program, the greater the deterrent. This means you could be helping to prevent crime before it occurs. Call us and we’ll make arrangements to get some to you.
  • If you are holding a special event in January and think that a Crime Stoppers information booth would be a good fit for your event, we want to hear from you.
  • Use your school’s morning announcement time to make sure everyone in your school is aware of the toll free 1-800-222-TIPS telephone number and the www.helpsolvecrime.com website. Contact us if you need assistance in creating a generic Crime Stoppers message.
  • Have your own idea on how to help promote Crime Stoppers in your community? Give us a call.

Since inception in 1988, Crime Stoppers of Haldimand, Norfolk and Tillsonburg has received over 8600 anonymous tips which have helped investigators to seize over $33.5 million in illegal narcotics, recover more than $4.2 million in stolen property and almost 5000 charges. Crime Stoppers wants 2009 to be the best on record for the crime fighting program and needs your help to make this happen. Thanks in advance for helping to make your community a safer one.
