In order to help celebrate Crime Stoppers of Haldimand, Norfolk and Tillsonburg’s 20th anniversary, the program held its annual appreciation due on April 3, 2008, at The Greens At Renton. The crime fighting program used the event to thank vital members of the community, the media and the police for all their commitment throughout 2007.
Gord Little, Chairperson for Crime Stoppers said, “Crime Stoppers has achieved great success over the last 20 years because of the support the program has received from the various communities and partners in Haldimand, Norfolk and Tillsonburg.” He added, “This event not only allows us to thank many of our major sponsors and community supporters, but it also gives us a chance to showcase everything that the program has achieved.”
Special guest at the event was Ontario Provincial Police Deputy Commissioner Chris Lewis. Deputy Commissioner Lewis addressed the group of more than 100 people and spoke of the success of the Crime Stoppers program. Crime Stoppers also used the event to present its annual awards to supporters.
The “Tom Stackhouse Memorial Award,” which celebrates corporate sponsorship, was presented this year to CD 98.9 fm for all of the work that the station does for the Crime Stoppers program.
