The William Robert Courtnage Community Service Bursary

2001 / 2002 - Jessica Armstrong

Excerpts taken from a letter from 2001/2002 Bursary Recipient

December 3, 2002

"Over my time at Valley Heights I really enjoyed being part of the Student Crime Stoppers team. It took time and effort, but it was a worthy project to take part in. Helping our community - both the school and the surrounding area - was a truly empowering thing for me. Crime Stoppers helped me to grow in my high school years and learn such important qualities as responsibility, organization and compassion. How rewarding it was to be granted an award from this organization that had already given so much to me!

I would like to thank...the whole of the Crime Stoppers organization for giving me so much to me. Your financial aid has helped me to begin my studies in Health at the University of Waterloo, and the personal qualities I developed while part of the Crime Stoppers team have better prepared me for such a step in my life. I thank you for deeming me worthy of an award like the William Robert Courtnage Bursary, and I pray that there will be a reason to grant such a charitable award to Valley Heights (Secondary School) graduates in the years to come."

Sincerely,
Jessica Armstrong
