HISTORY OF STUDENT CRIME STOPPERS

The Student Crime Stopper Program has roots that stretch back to Fairview High School in Boulder, Colorado in 1983. Since then, Crime Stoppers International has received over 800 request, for information from educational institutions all over the U.S., Guam, Canada and England.

Locally, in Haldimand-Norfolk, Hagersville Secondary School started the first Student Crime Stoppers program in 1993. Since then, many area schools have followed their lead in the fight against crime by developing an awareness program or a stand-alone program.
