2010

Constable Natalya McCourt, Ontario Provincial Police

Constable Natalya McCourt is a member of the Ontario Provincial Police and began her policing career in 1999. She transferred to Norfolk detachment in 2005 and has worked in various capacities including her most recent assignment as School Resource Officer. Throughout 2010, Constable McCourt could be found promoting the Student Crime Stoppers program at various activities in Waterford, Delhi, Port Dover and Valley Heights Secondary Schools. Because of her dedication to Student Crime Stoppers in 2010, this very important student program has taken a strong foothold in several schools. Constable McCourt also founded the Eclipse program which through the principals of Judo teaches self respect, confidence and discipline to local youth.

2009

Detective Constable Tammy Plummer – Ontario Provincial Police & Detective Constable Derek Bowles – Ontario Provincial Police

Both of these officers have been recognized before and work as members of their detachment’s respective “drug enforcement section.” Throughout 2009 both of these officers investigated several hundred anonymous tips and as a result of their hard work, millions of dollars worth of narcotics were taken off our streets.

2008

Detective Constable Tammy Plummer – Ontario Provincial Police

Starting her career in policing in 1992, Detective Constable Tammy Plummer has worked in various avenues of the Ontario Provincial Police including general patrols, traffic enforcement and has also served with the identification and crime units of the OPP. Through this officer’s dedicated efforts to investigate anonymous tips in 2008, thousands of dollars worth of drugs have been taken off the streets. In the past, Detective Constable Plummer has also been presented with a Commissioner’s Citation Award for Bravery and the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement Award for Valour.

Detective Constable Derek Bowles – Ontario Provincial Police

Receiving special recognition and an honorable mention for his dedicated investigative efforts in 2008 as well was ten year veteran Detective Constable Derek Bowles.  Throughout 2008, Ontario Provincial Police Detective Constable Bowles investigated a countless number of anonymous tips and was able to use this information to seize more than a million dollars worth of illegal narcotics and stop them from ending up on the streets of our community.

2007

2006

Western Region Drug Enforcement Unit – Ontario Provincial Police

Under the immediate supervision of Detective Staff Sergeant Patty Dobbin and Detective Sergeant Brad Durfy, the Western Region Drug Enforcement Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police worked tirelessly throughout 2006 to rid the streets of Haldimand, Norfolk and Tillsonburg of illegal drugs. Crime Stoppers has always been fortunate to have a positive working relationship with this unit and statistics for illegal narcotics seized is outstanding because of the work this unit did in 2006 and prior.

2005

Detective Constable Lee Fulford, Ontario Provincial Police

Norfolk Detachment - Detective Constable Fulford was hired in February 2000 and posted to the Haldimand-Norfolk Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police. He worked three years on general patrol duties and even during this time was always involved in drug investigations. Detective Constable Fulford was posted to the Community Directed Partrol Unit for about one year and was then assigned to the Street Team in Simcoe targeting crack cocaine from October 2004 until March 2005. In March 2005 Detective Constable Fulford joined the Drug Enforcement Section and throughout the remainder of 2005 used Crime Stoppers tips to seize thousands and thousands of dollars worth of illegal narcotics off our streets.

2004

Constable Owen Jones, Ontario Provincial Police

Norfolk Detachment Constable Owen Jones began his career with the Ontario Provincial Police in 1998 as a Cadet in Brant County. He was hired one year later as a Constable with the Norfolk County OPP where he worked uniform duties for approximately four years until he was seconded to the drug unit where he worked for nine months. While serving in this capacity, Constable Jones worked to clear almost one quarter of a million dollars worth of illegal narcotics off our streets.

2003

Detective Constable Roger Geysens, Ontario Provincial Police

Norfolk Detachment - Detective Constable Roger Geysens was awarded the "Law Enforcement Recognition Award" for clearing the most cases in 2003 leading to the seizure of over $2.2 million worth of illegal drugs and crime related property. An eleven year veteran of the OPP, D/Cst Geysens is currently seconded to the Drug Enforcement Unit. D/Cst Geysens has worked a variety of duties in his career including general patrol duties, detective duties, intelligence coordination, break and enter initiatives and he has also served as Detective Sergeant for the Break and Enter Unit.

2002

Detective Constable Ron Williams, Ontario Provincial Police, Haldimand County Detachment

D/Cst Ron Williams assisted in the seizure of more than $3 million illegal drugs and crime related property in 2002 and was awarded the first annual Law Enforcement Recognition Award for his dedication to the Crime Stoppers program.
