Spring Gala
2009 Crime Stoppers Gala Blossoms into Successful Event!
Crime Stoppers of Haldimand, Norfolk and Tillsonburg kicked off the 2009 fundraising year with great success at its “8th annual Spring Gala” on May 7, 2009 at the Fisherville Lions Hall. Sponsored for the 8th year in a row by Erie Mutual Fire Insurance Company, the event raised an incredible $12,000 and played host to over 120 guests who enjoyed an evening of fine dining while raising funds to help fight crime in our community.
“This event is immensely successful because of the support we receive from community members and businesses, like Erie Mutual Fire Insurance Company,” said Dave Welch, Spring Gala Committee Chairperson and Townsend area board representative. He continues, “Every donation that is made to Crime Stoppers helps raise the much needed funds used to run the local crime fighting program and stays in our communities.”
Originally started seven years ago to appeal to members of the east end of the program’s coverage area, this event – which is Crime Stoppers’ first fundraiser of the year - now attracts guests from all over our region and has grown into one of Crime Stoppers of Haldimand, Norfolk and Tillsonburg’s biggest fundraisers. Because the program is a community based and owned program, the board of directors is responsible for privately raising all the funds needed to run the program. Other fundraisers for this year include the program’s annual annual golf tournament on August 20, 2009 and Jail or Bail in Simcoe which is tentatively booked for the fall.
Crime Stoppers of Haldimand, Norfolk & Tillsonburg would like would to thank everyone who supported this fundraising event including donors, guests and volunteers. Crime Stoppers would particularly like to thank Erie Mutual Fire Insurance for their generous and continued support of this fundraising initiative.
A special thank you goes to everyone who supported the event including:
